The Lebanese Hezbollah announced today, Friday, the killing of 3 of its members in continuous Israeli bombing of southern Lebanon, while the party launched attacks on Israeli sites in the Shebaa Farms, the Galilee, and the occupied Golan.

In separate statements, the party mourned 3 of its members, saying that they "rose on the path to Jerusalem."

In terms of military confrontations, Hezbollah said that its fighters targeted a deployment of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Raheb site with artillery shells.

Al Jazeera's correspondent pointed to the sound of explosions after rockets were fired at the Israeli Al-Samaqa site in the Kfar Shuba hills, and the Israeli radar site in the occupied Shebaa Farms in southern Lebanon.

Israeli media reported that 3 rockets landed in open areas in the Western Galilee, northern Israel, and were launched from southern Lebanon.

Yesterday, Hezbollah announced that it had carried out 8 attacks on Israeli sites in the Galilee and the occupied Golan.

The party said that its fighters bombed the Afdoun settlement, an Israeli force in the Metulla settlement, and a site in Liman.

The party also targeted, with drones, the Karantina Heights, and bombed the radar and Ruwaisat al-Alam sites in the occupied Shebaa Farms, and the Maale Golan barracks and the Zaoura barracks in the occupied Golan.

On the other hand, Israeli warplanes launched two raids on the town of Baraashit and the vicinity of the town of Mansouri in the central and western sectors of southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the raid on Bara'shit targeted a house, which led to its destruction and damage to neighboring houses.

The Civil Defense said that two citizens were injured as a result of the Israeli raid.

The Israeli occupation army also said that its warplanes attacked what it described as the military headquarters of Hezbollah in the Mansouri area, in addition to another headquarters for the party in the Bint Jbeil area in southern Lebanon.

Today, the occupation announced the bombing of military buildings belonging to Hezbollah in the Zabqin area, and it also intercepted a drone carrying explosives belonging to the party.

The occupation army added - in a statement - that it carried out an attack yesterday on what it said was a military building belonging to Hezbollah in the Talusah area, and another building in the Majdal Zone area. Following its targeting, secondary explosions were detected indicating the presence of weapons that were stored in the building, according to the occupation’s account.

Ground operation

On the other hand, Israeli Channel 13 said that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy had instructed to prepare plans for a possible ground operation in Lebanon, and to "draw lessons from the Gaza war."

The channel added that Halevy assigned the preparer of plans for the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, General Chico Tamir, to plan a new ground operation in Lebanon.

In the same context, the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper - which is close to Hezbollah - reported that Israel informed European countries that it had set a deadline of March 15 to reach a political settlement with Lebanon, otherwise it would be prepared to escalate military operations into a full-scale war.

The newspaper quoted Western diplomatic sources - which it did not name - that Israel’s talk about the deadline increased the concern of Western countries, which believe that they should make every effort to support the continuing efforts of the United States and France to implement Resolution 1701, and initiate a border settlement that provides security in the long term and guarantees the return of the displaced. On both sides of the border.

According to the same sources, the political path is not sufficient for reassurance, despite the American side’s insistence on drafting the initials of the agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv.

However, these sources warned that any discussion regarding political arrangements in Lebanon and a ceasefire will not be translatable, as long as the aggression against the Gaza Strip continues.

In the wake of a devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, since October 8, 2023, the Lebanese-Israeli border has witnessed an exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the one hand, and the Israeli occupation army on the other hand, which led to deaths and injuries on both sides of the border.

Recently, threats have escalated from Israeli officials to expand attacks on Lebanese territory unless Hezbollah fighters withdraw to the south of the Litani River.
