This Thursday, Emmanuel Macron receives at the Élysée to talk about the Ukrainian question.

A week before the debate in Parliament, the head of state wants to take the pulse of the opposition.

And all are aligned on one subject: no sending troops to Ukraine, in the face of Russian nuclear power.

The meeting is set for 10:30 a.m.

This Thursday, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron receives all the heads of political parties at the Élysée.

Theme of the day: the war in Ukraine, a week before a debate in Parliament, followed by a vote on the question of France's commitment. 

And if there had been several

having refused Emmanuel Macron's last invitation in November, this time, the party leaders will all be present.

The meeting must be held behind closed doors in the format of the Saint-Denis meetings on the theme of the bilateral security agreement concluded with Ukraine in February and France's position.

But this exchange promises to be tense, in particular because all the oppositions, from the National Rally to France Insoumise, condemn the president's recent comments on the potential sending of ground troops to Ukraine.

The subject of Israel Hamas also mentioned?

The line is clear on their side: no military solution in the face of a nuclear power.

And on the other hand, left-wing political figures also want to put the rest of international news on the agenda, in other words to impose the subject of Israel Gaza.

In this context, Emmanuel Macron should nevertheless seek common ground with his guests before the vote in Parliament next week.
