Ukrainian companies exhibited at a large-scale food trade fair in Tokyo for the first time since the invasion, aiming to expand their business in Japan.

FOODEX JAPAN, a food trade fair held at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward, Tokyo, is attended by companies and organizations from all over the world, including 13 companies from Ukraine who exhibited for the first time since the Russian invasion.

The Black Sea route for exports from Ukraine has become unstable following the Russian invasion, and many of the companies exhibiting this time are using transportation routes that go through neighboring countries such as Poland and Romania.



A representative from a company that handles processed foods such as pumpkin seeds from Ukraine said, ``Currently, we mainly sell in Europe, but Japan has a large economy and we see it as a very important market.Japanese people We want to provide products that satisfy our customers.''



In addition, the representative of a company that sells Ukrainian wine said, ``If we can stimulate the Ukrainian economy, it will gradually lead to recovery, so we hope everyone in Japan will buy at least a bottle of wine.''
