The mayor of
Fontanar (Guadalajara)
, Víctor San Vidal, is in the spotlight after a video was published and went viral in which he insults and harasses a municipal employee at the town's Youth House.
"You're mentally retarded, you're stupid. You're ruining your livelihood, you're going to go to the fucking street!" is heard in the video recorded by some neighbors at the center's door.
"You are subnormal. You are the shame of your family," is also heard.
The mayor, from the
'Among all Fontanar'
party , has published an apology on his Instagram.
"I deeply and sincerely regret it. Those who know me know that this behavior is not typical of me and that my character is deeply peaceful, tolerant and respectful," he has published.
According to San Vidal, who has taken
medical leave
after what happened, the events are something "absolutely exceptional, which has occurred due to the "accumulated stress and extreme nervous tension" that has been "dragging for some time, due to a great workload and responsibilities" that he carries out "with an enormous lack of means.
The authors of the video, and residents of Fonatar, have told 'Cuatro' that there were already rumors about the mayor's behavior.
"We had already heard rumors that he treated her badly and we stayed to keep an eye on her.
