He noted that in recent days very contradictory statements have been heard from Paris - there are active intra-French and intra-European discussions.

“On the one hand, Mr. Macron is beginning to discuss the possibility of sending military contingents to the Ukrainian war.

On the other hand, the French Foreign Minister categorically denies the possibility of sending such contingents,” Peskov said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

At the same time, the Kremlin representative emphasized, one thing is clear: Macron is convinced of his line of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia.

“He continues to increase the level of direct French involvement in this war.

From our point of view, this in no way corresponds to the interests of the French,” Peskov added.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the possibility of sending troops from Western countries to Ukraine cannot be ruled out.

Peskov called the discussion of the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine terrible.
