According to the publication, Sweden's membership in the alliance provides new opportunities for supplies and reinforcements by sea.

This is due to the fact that NATO will have the island of Gotland, located in the middle of the Baltic Sea, at its disposal.

It can be used by the member countries of the alliance as a transport center.

This, according to the author of the article, will strengthen the defense of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Earlier it became known that the new President of Hungary, Tamas Szuyok, approved the ratification of Sweden's membership in NATO.

Later, TV4 reported that the country’s official entry into the alliance could take place on March 11.
