Former Prime Minister Koizumi and former Liberal Democratic Party Secretary-General Nikai held a meeting to exchange opinions on issues such as the next House of Representatives election and the Liberal Democratic Party presidential election scheduled for this fall.

The meeting held in Tokyo on the night of the 7th was attended by former Prime Minister Koizumi, former Liberal Democratic Party Vice President Yamazaki, former Secretary General Nikai, and others.

They then exchanged opinions on the current political situation, the upcoming House of Representatives election, and the Liberal Democratic Party presidential election scheduled for this fall.

After the meeting, Koizumi told reporters, ``I think there will be an election for the House of Representatives this year.Currently, it's helpful because the opposition parties are disparate, but if the opposition parties become unified, including next month's by-election for the House of Representatives, I said that the Liberal Democratic Party was in trouble."

Mr. Yamazaki also said, ``If the Liberal Democratic Party loses three times in the House of Representatives by-election, the Kishida administration will be out.'' Mr. Koizumi clearly stated, ``My son Koizumi, former Minister of the Environment, will not run in the next presidential election.'' "I did."
