In Chad

, the presidential election on May 6 will put an end to the Chadian transition which has lasted for three years.

The Patriotic Salvation Movement (MPS), which built an imposing coalition around its candidate, claiming 211 signatory parties, wasted no time in submitting

Mahamat Idriss Déby

's file on Wednesday March 6.

For Mahamat Zen Bada, secretary general of the MPS and coordinator of the Coalition for United Chad, there was no time to lose: “

It is a strong signal to move quickly

towards a return to constitutional order

, and so I am very proud to have submitted it.

I don't see the rush, because a political party is made to take power through the ballot box.

A political party is a machine for winning elections.

A political party must be ready every day, even if we are told that the elections are in two days!

»

A figure on the Wakit Tama civil society platform, Max Loalngar is calling for the publication of the list of the Coalition for a United Chad so that, he says, “

History will remember it tomorrow

 ”.

Opponents taken by surprise

The transitional president's potential adversaries were taken by surprise by

the announcement of the electoral calendar

and the announcement of the date of May 6.

Many are dissatisfied.

The brother of former First Lady Hinda Déby, Abderahim Mahamat Acyl, president of the MJE party, is a likely candidate in the election.

We urge the transitional president to show responsibility by withdrawing his candidacy and allowing an electoral process open to all candidates, respecting the popular will.

Democracy can only thrive in an environment where all citizens have an equal voice and fair access to political institutions.

So we strongly condemn the submission of the president’s candidacy

 ,” he declared.

Among the parties expected until March 15, the Transformers must decide during the weekend.
