Last weekend, the Municipal Police arrested a 39-year-old man, a native of El Salvador, accused of sexually assaulting his eight-year-old daughter in his apartment on Mestanza Street, in the Madrid district of Puente de Vallecas.

The agents are investigating whether he also committed the same crimes against her other 10-year-old daughter after her mother told the police that she knew that she abused her two girls, although she did not tell him out out

of fear. to suffer reprisals.

It was a relative who notified the Municipal Police on Sunday morning, after finding his eight-year-old niece in the house, who was shaking.

The agents went to the home immediately and found a couple with two daughters, as well as other relatives who were very nervous.

The minor initially said that

her father had tried to do "bad things that she didn't want."

The detainee's brother-in-law told the agents that his niece was very scared because of what she had previously reported and the agents decided to talk to the minor separately.

The girl told them that her father locked herself with her in the room where she was sleeping, and that once her door was closed, he pulled down her pants and panties.

Next, according to the report, the parent "proceeded to lower his shoes and the girl got scared and

managed to escape and run out of the room, heading back to the living room where he closed the door

and placed a chair so that her father could not enter." ».

The minor added that it was not the first time that "this happened," so the agents proceeded to arrest her father for an alleged crime of sexual assault with the aggravating factor of kinship.

The mother was on the same floor, who told the agents that she had been aware for a long time of the abuse suffered by her two daughters, aged eight and 10.

She explained that she did not dare to report because

she was in an irregular situation since her rental contract was in his name

.

For their part, the couple's relatives indicated that they knew nothing about the alleged sexual assaults suffered by the girls.

A report presented yesterday by Save The Children on the occasion of March 8 indicates that in 45% of reports of sexual assault in Spain, the victims are girls or adolescents.

In 2022, some 18,700 complaints were filed and of them, 45% of the victims were underage girls with an average of 15 years old, the same age as their aggressors, so, for the organization, "being a

girl is again "a determining risk factor to be able to suffer an attack of this type."

Specifically, this report indicates that group rapes have increased by 64% and, in addition,

one in 10 attacks of this type is recorded

or photographed and the images are later shared in group chats or with friends.

As for the aggressors, the data on sexual crimes committed by both adults and people between 14 and 17 years old - ages at which there is already criminal responsibility - reflect that in 97% of cases the aggressor is a man. .
