Today, Thursday, Israeli raids on various areas in the Gaza Strip continued, and while the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the occupation army committed 9 massacres during the last 24 hours, killing more than 86 martyrs and 113 wounded, a UN rapporteur expressed his horror at the continuation of the “starvation” campaign. Palestinians.

The number of martyrs in the central Gaza Strip rose to 42 after 7 martyrs were recovered from a house south of Deir al-Balah in the center of the Strip, amid expectations that the number of victims will rise as efforts to recover the victims continue.

For his part, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that ambulance crews recovered the bodies of 29 martyrs from various areas in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, since this morning.

The correspondent reported earlier that there were martyrs and wounded in an Israeli bombing that targeted Palestinians in the center of the town of Bani Suhaila in Khan Yunis. He said that heavy Israeli bombing targeted Hamad Town and areas in the north of the governorate.

Al Jazeera's correspondent also reported that the bodies of two martyrs arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, as a result of Israeli bombing on the Al-Qarara area in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The reporter also pointed out that a child was killed, and others were injured, in an Israeli artillery shelling of the airport area, east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The child died as a result of his head injury resulting from the bombing.

The death toll rises

In the northern Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that a number of martyrs and wounded were killed in an Israeli bombing of Al-Salah Mosque in the town of Jabalia.

In the city camp, civil defense crews were able to rescue a girl alive, and recover a number of martyrs and wounded from under the rubble of a house, after the occupation aircraft targeted a residential square.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that martyrs and wounded were killed as a result of the bombing of a civilian car in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

Also, 7 Palestinians were martyred and at least 10 others were injured in Israeli shooting at citizens near the Wadi Gaza checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the people of Deir al-Balah mourned the bodies of 12 martyrs from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central Gaza Strip, who were killed yesterday evening and today at dawn in Israeli raids that targeted two homes in the area in addition to a house in the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Al Jazeera's correspondent said that the occupation authorities handed over - through the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip - the bodies of 47 martyrs that they were holding during their military operations.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Strip on October 7 had risen to 30,800, and the number of injured to 72,298.

Starvation and genocide

On the other hand, the United Nations rapporteur on the right to food, Michael Fakhry, described Israel's use of starvation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip as "genocide."

Fakhri told Anadolu Agency that the residents of Gaza are facing unprecedented hunger since the beginning of the Israeli war against them last October.

The UN rapporteur added, "We have never seen a society die of starvation so quickly and so completely, and what we are seeing at the present time is considered famine."

He pointed out that children in Gaza are dying from malnutrition and thirst, and added, "We have never seen children pushed so quickly into malnutrition in any conflict throughout modern history."

Fakhry pointed out that children suffering from malnutrition will face growth problems, and that this situation will have long-term and permanent effects.

The UN rapporteur explained that at the stage the war has reached, it clearly appears that there is genocide being committed in Gaza.

He stated that Israel uses food and hunger as a weapon, and that there is a starvation campaign that began with the war and continues until today.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction, which led to Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide.
