According to him, Yerevan’s position is that Armenian, not Russian, border guards should serve at the capital’s airport.

On February 27, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan expressed the opinion that Russia should withdraw its border guards from Zvartnots International Airport.
According to him, Armenian forces are capable of defending their borders themselves.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov did not confirm the discussion of the presence of Russian border guards in Armenia.
