The report, signed by Medvedev, is dated October 6, 1944.

It is noted that the publication of these materials is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the death of a special agent of the USSR state security agencies, Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Ivanovich Kuznetsov, who was part of the “Winners” detachment, at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists.

In 1943-1944, Kuznetsov, acting under the name of Chief Lieutenant (then Captain) Paul Siebert, personally eliminated 11 generals and high-ranking officials of the occupation administration of Nazi Germany in western Ukraine, and also obtained extremely important information about the plans of the Germans.

He died on March 9, 1944 in a battle near the western Ukrainian village of Boratin.

Last December, one of the last encryption messages from the USSR intelligence services about plans to attack Germany was published.

One of the most recent messages that Germany was starting a war against the Soviet Union was received by the USSR intelligence services on the evening of June 21, 1941.
