Regarding the export of the next-generation fighter aircraft, which is being jointly developed with the UK and Italy, to third countries, Prime Minister Kishida stated that creating a mechanism for export would lead to the realization of a favorable security environment and would be in the national interest. He expressed his intention to continue discussions between the government and the ruling party.

Discussions are continuing between the Liberal Democratic Party, which has a policy of allowing the export of defense equipment jointly developed with other countries, such as the next generation of fighter jets, to third countries, and the New Komeito Party, which is taking a cautious stance.



Regarding this, Prime Minister Kishida stated at the House of Councilors Budget Committee on the 6th, ``In order to realize an aircraft with the performance necessary for the defense of Japan, we need a mechanism that allows for direct transfer of the next fighter jet to a third country.'' is necessary for the success of international joint development."



He added, ``Having such a mechanism will lead to realizing a security environment favorable to protecting the lives and livelihoods of the people, which is in the national interest.We will continue to move forward with discussions between the government and the ruling party.'' said.



On the other hand, regarding the visit to Yasukuni Shrine by senior officials of the Ground Staff, a Ministry of Defense official stated that Self-Defense Forces personnel are obligated to wear uniforms at all times. It was recognized that this visit did not violate the internal directive prohibiting troops from visiting religious facilities.
