  • Politics The Government agrees with Junts and ERC to change the amnesty again after Puigdemont's demands to include all terrorism

The President of the Government,

Pedro Sánchez,

assured this Wednesday that the amnesty law that is intended to be approved in the Congress of Deputies after an agreement with

Junts

and

ERC

that is expected to be known in "a few hours" will be "constitutional" and aligned "with European law".

Although

the content is not yet known,

the announcement has not left the rest of the parties indifferent, which have reacted in a diverse way, according to their political spectrum.

The PSOE celebrates the beginning of "a new stage"

The Secretary of Organization of the PSOE,

Santos Cerdán,

celebrated this Wednesday the beginning of "a new stage" with the agreement reached with Junts and ERC on the amnesty law, which will be

"brave, constitutional and guaranteeing"

and will leave behind "the worst crisis of our democracy".

"A new stage begins. With politics and dialogue as a way to resolve conflicts, and with a brave, constitutional and guaranteeing Amnesty Law that leaves behind the worst crisis of our democracy. Reconciliation and generosity to continue building, together, a better country" , Cerdán has written in his account on the social network X.

He did so minutes after the PSOE, Junts and ERC published a statement in which they reported on the pact on the amnesty law to reinforce a rule that, they claim,

covers "all people linked to the independence process"

and that is "fully compliant with the Constitution, European law and jurisprudence and the best European and international standards."

From Las Palmas, the PSOE spokesperson in Congress,

Patxi López

, has stressed that the agreement reached with Junts and ERC for the Amnesty Law "does not change the spirit" of this project and remains

"constitutional" as it was since the principle.

THE socialist spokesperson

did not want to give details about the agreed changes

.

"You will know that tomorrow, they are currently drafting the remaining details. As we have always said, we negotiate with discretion, but once we reach the agreement we make it public and you will see it," he added.

And he has justified these changes because "any law that enters Parliament is open to modifications" and the PSOE always said that it would continue negotiating.

The PP accuses Sánchez of accepting that in Catalonia "there are no longer sentences to apply"

For its part, the

PP

accused this Wednesday the President of the Government of accepting that "during a specific period of time

in Catalonia there were no laws to comply with

and that there are no longer sentences to apply."

"This country has normalized the PSOE to send writings with its logo next to those of the parties that want to dismember our country," PP sources denounced after the socialists confirmed the agreement in a joint statement with Junts and ERC.

This agreement, they assured from the PP, "is evidence that Sánchez accepts that during a specific period of time in Catalonia there were no laws to comply with and that there are no longer sentences to apply.

Spain apologizes to the independence movement by order of Pedro Sánchez "We do not accept this humiliation."

They believe in the PP that in the PSOE there are

"two types of corruption:

that which is generated by money and that which is produced by power. In recent days, socialism is stained in both directions. Due to economic corruption, some became rich. For political corruption, some are still powerful.

"Our dignity cannot be sold for the parliamentary needs of Pedro Sánchez, who a month ago flatly denied further changes to his Amnesty Law. What's more, his spokesperson in the PSOE just two days ago rejected new modifications to the text. His Words are worthless. We will fight this agreement in the institutions and in the courts," the PP concluded.

Furthermore, the deputy secretary of Institutional Action of the PP,

Esteban González Pons,

has asked Europe for "help" in the midst of the amnesty law that the PSOE and Junts have agreed on and has assured that

the rule of law in Spain "is in danger" .

This was stated by Pons in his speech at the Congress that the European People's Party (EPP) is holding in Bucharest (Romania) with an eye on the European elections in June, almost coinciding in time with the agreement that PSOE, Junts and ERC have announced the content of the amnesty law and whose content they want to reveal this Thursday, the same day that the Justice Commission meets in the Congress of Deputies to issue a new opinion.

"Today the rule of law in Spain is in danger.

We Spaniards need help,"

said Pons, who stressed that the amnesty law "exchanges forgiveness for votes" with the aim of keeping Pedro Sánchez in La Moncloa.

González Pons has indicated that the rule of law is being attacked by "enemies of the law" who look and speak like democrats but "are not."

For this reason, he has asked his EPP colleagues not to give up.

Sumar celebrates the agreement and warns that there is a legislature "for a while"

Sumar's spokesperson in Congress,

Íñigo Errejón,

celebrated this Wednesday the agreement between PSOE, ERC and Junts on a future amnesty law that, in his opinion, "is perfectly constitutional" and has warned that "there will be a legislature for a while" after this "victory" in the Lower House.

"We said it: there is an agreement and there will be an amnesty law," said the parliamentary spokesperson in a message published on the social

network

"It is fair in democratic terms. It is perfectly constitutional," he indicated.

For Errejón, this agreement between the three political parties is "a victory over attempts to veto the action of Congress, the seat of popular sovereignty."

"To the mobilization of reactionary forces in the streets and in the State we say:

there is a legislature for a while,"

he warned mainly PP and Vox, opposition parties.

Furthermore, Sumar's negotiator and candidate of the Commons for the European elections,

Jaume Asens,

has celebrated the agreement, since with this pact, he said,

"justice" wins over "hatred, incomprehension, 'lawfare' and the revenge".

From the social network

"Congratulations to everyone who has helped make this new beginning possible," he added in his message.

Abascal says that Sánchez is "Mr. X of corruption" after the agreement: Spain does not deserve these criminals

The leader of Vox,

Santiago Abascal,

has criticized the agreement, pointing out Pedro Sánchez as "Mr.

"Spain does not deserve this gang of criminals,"

he pointed out.

In a message on the social network

"They need each other to prevent justice from putting them in the dock together," added the president of Vox, later claiming that "Spain does not deserve this gang of criminals and any opposition that makes the slightest agreement with them." has pointed out.

Aragonès assesses that they are "closer to leaving repression behind"

The president of the Generalitat,

Pere Aragonès,

has celebrated the agreement of PSOE, Junts and ERC on the amnesty law:

"There is still a way to go, and it will not be easy,

but today we are a little closer to leaving repression behind."

"Democracy wins with the amnesty

," Aragonès stated.

For the president, it is "a crucial and solid law" and he has said that he welcomes the agreement especially for those who will feel a little more relieved.

MEP Adrián Vázquez (Cs): "This aberration will collide with the rule of law and the EU"

The Ciudadanos MEP and

president of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Chamber,

Adrián Vázquez, criticized the agreement reached this Wednesday between the PSOE, Junts and ERC on the amnesty law and said that his party will try to make it "clash" against the Union Europe.

"Sánchez tries to

cover up the economic corruption of the Koldo-Ábalos scandal with the moral and political corruption of the amnesty.

They may approve it in Congress, but

this aberration will collide with the rule of law and the European Union.

We will make sure that this is the case" , said the parliamentarian through his account in X shortly after learning of the agreement.
