This assumption was expressed by former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter in an interview with journalist Danny Haiphong.

“Let’s be clear: this is not her voluntary decision,” he said.

At the same time, Ritter noted that Nuland “is no longer in line with the policy” pursued by the US President and Secretary of State.

Earlier, Nuland notified US Secretary of State Antony Blinken of her decision to leave her post in the coming weeks.

Later, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Nuland’s resignation was due to the failure of the White House’s anti-Russian course.
