At the microphone of Europe 1, a teacher says she was afraid for her life two years ago, because of a Muslim student who was upset by her way of teaching.

“I felt that she was completely recovered”

“When I broached the theme of secularism, for example, and I put forward the idea that there could be women imams, I felt that she was completely upset,” begins this teacher at the microphone. of Europe 1.

“Students came to warn me and my colleague about what she was posting on social networks, in this case TikTok. She explained that her teachers were endangering her religion. Our fear was that she names us, that she names the establishment, which she has never done publicly but what she did in a private message and it seemed sufficiently alarming to us for us to request functional protection", she indicates.

Functional protection is a general principle of law intended to protect public officials against attacks or criminal charges to which they may be subject in the exercise of their functions, provided that they have not no personal fault.

In this case, the teachers were able to seek help from a lawyer as well as psychological support.

“I became very vigilant”

At the microphone of Europe 1, the teacher, who preferred to testify anonymously, claims to have been "in a context of fear for her life".

“It stopped because the young girl changed establishments but I assure you that I have become very vigilant. I pay attention to everything I say,” she confides.
