The Finnish Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the planned law will be prepared for “the most serious situations.”

Member of Parliament Pekka Toveri explained that in the future it is planned to accept asylum applications only at official border points.

There are also plans to speed up the processing of asylum applications and require asylum seekers to remain near the border until the procedure is completed.

Until now, they could move freely around the country.
