This statement was made by Czech President Petr Pavel following negotiations with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

“Acting within the framework of international law, we must not close off opportunities to support Ukraine,” Novinky.cz quotes the Czech leader as saying.

At the same time, he expressed his readiness to “look for new ways” to help Kyiv.

“We are not talking about sending combat troops to Ukraine, because in this case the notorious red line could be crossed.

But there was no talk about this, we are talking about assistance,” added Pavel.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine would receive shells in the coming weeks at the initiative of the Czech Republic.

Also, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Peter Fiala said that there is no talk of sending Czech military personnel to Ukraine to participate in hostilities.
