China News Service, United Nations, March 5 (Reporter Wang Fan) China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, spoke at the United Nations General Assembly meeting on the use of the veto power on the 5th, saying that the international community must use the strongest sense of urgency and the greatest political We are determined to promote an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, end the conflict, and preserve the hope of survival for the Gaza people.

Geng Shuang said that in the nearly five months since the conflict in Gaza broke out, the United States has forcibly blocked the Security Council's request for a ceasefire for the fourth time. China is deeply disappointed by this.

The voting results of the Security Council clearly show that the vast majority of Security Council members are unanimous on the ceasefire issue in Gaza, but the United States has exclusively abused its veto power and stifled the Security Council's consensus.

This has caused widespread dissatisfaction in the international community.

Geng Shuang said that an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is necessary to save innocent civilians, a prerequisite for carrying out humanitarian relief, and the key to avoiding further escalation and spread of conflicts.

China urges Israel to immediately change course, cancel its attack plan on Rafah, stop its military attack on Gaza, and stop forced relocation and collective punishment of the Palestinian people.

China calls on relevant countries to abandon geostrategic considerations and domestic political calculations, truly uphold a fair and responsible attitude, make correct choices and play a constructive role in promoting the ceasefire in Gaza.

Geng Shuang said that under artillery fire, Gaza is facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, with an extreme shortage of survival materials, nearly 600,000 people on the verge of famine, and social order on the verge of collapse.

China urges Israel, as the occupying power, to fulfill its obligations under international law, ensure the safe, rapid and unimpeded access of sufficient humanitarian supplies, and take practical measures to ensure the safety of humanitarian agencies and personnel and provide necessary convenience for them to carry out rescue operations.

Geng Shuang said that the "two-state solution" is the only feasible way to solve the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

China urges Israel to stop denigrating the "two-state solution", stop eroding the foundation of the "two-state solution", and stop promoting illegal settlement activities.

China calls for intensifying international and regional diplomatic efforts, reshaping a credible multilateral process, reviving the political prospects of the "two-state solution", and restarting direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel.

Geng Shuang said that China will continue to work with the international community to make unremitting efforts to quell the war in Gaza at an early date, alleviate the humanitarian disaster, implement the "two-state solution", and achieve long-term peace and stability in the Middle East.
