His family and loved ones therefore had to wait a month and a half after his arrest to learn that Maître Guy-Hervé Kam, kidnapped by unknown persons in civilian clothes on January 24, was in fact arrested by security agents.

This is what the state judicial agent officially admitted this Tuesday, March 5, during a hearing with Mr. Kam's lawyers before the Ouagadougou administrative court.

In addition, the state agent affirms that the former co-founder of Balai Citoyen and leader of the Sens political movement was arrested because he was suspected

of “undermining state security

An accusation which remains to be substantiated according to Me Kam's lawyers, since despite the assertions of the judicial agent, neither of the two high courts is aware of a criminal procedure for such accusations.

For his part, the state agent refused to say precisely where Guy-Hervé Kam was being held.

Me Farama, lawyer for the imprisoned colleague, denounced several procedural violations and demanded that Burkinabe law be respected.
