Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that Lebanese Hezbollah fired 70 missiles at Israel in response to targeting a Lebanese family and killing 3 of its members, noting that the party practices a policy of deterrence versus deterrence with extreme discipline so as not to give Israel the opportunity to expand the scope of the war.

Today, the party bombarded villages in the Kiryat Shmona settlement on the Lebanese-Israeli border with 70 missiles, of which Israel said it shot down 10.

This is the largest salvo since the start of confrontations between the two sides on October 8, after a previous salvo that included 52 missiles.

Al-Duwairi believed that about 35 missiles had hit their targets, noting that the Iron Dome was only 65% effective.

He believed that this comes within the framework of the party's policy based on the theory of deterrence versus deterrence, but with discipline. He pointed out that the party gradually targeted the Israeli depth and did not target any civilians since the beginning of the confrontations. It also defines its responses very precisely "because it does not want to give Israel the opportunity to expand the war." Without ruling out that the matter would later develop into a direct war due to Israeli harassment.

According to an information report submitted by Mahmoud Al-Kan, Hezbollah missiles reached villages located 5 kilometers from the Lebanese border: Kiryat Shmona, Beit Hillel, and Kfar Blum.

Destruction operations in southern Gaza

Regarding operations in the Gaza Strip, Al-Duwairi said that 3 to 4 brigades are currently fighting in southern Gaza, describing what is currently taking place as destruction rather than military operations.

Al-Duwairi confirmed that the areas of Al-Qarara, Al-Zana, and Al-Hamd City (south of the Gaza Strip) are all inflamed areas, and he said that they represent operations behind enemy lines, which re-attacked them due to the heavy losses they suffered there, according to Al-Duwairi.

Regarding what is happening in the town of Abasan in Khan Yunis, Al-Duwairi said that the Israelis faced fierce resistance that forced them to retreat more than once, noting that the battles in the south are completely different from the north.

He concluded by stressing that what is currently taking place is total destruction rather than military operations, especially in the southern regions, as evidenced by the presence of a battalion at the front of Gaza City whose mission is to destroy tunnels, but just last week it destroyed 150 residential buildings.
