The politician stated this in an interview with public television of Armenia.

According to Grigoryan, Armenia was seriously dependent on Russia in a number of areas, including political, economic, military-political and scientific.

He added that all this was part of the general security of Armenia.

He claims that the built security system allegedly did not work both in the bilateral format of relations between Moscow and Yerevan, and within the CSTO.

“And we are taking numerous steps towards finding an alternative, because for a long time we were completely dependent on one center.

And, by the way, the fact that we have been dependent on Russia in all areas since 1991 was our big strategic mistake,” said the Security Council Secretary.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov reported that statements about “pressure” on Armenia are not true.

Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergei Kopyrkin said that talk about diversifying Armenia's foreign and defense policy is perceived as distancing itself from Russia.
