The founder of the private military company Blackwater, Erik Prince, said on the social network X that the conflict around Ukraine must be ended, “leaving Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk to Russia.”

“Unfortunately, this is true,” Musk responded.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that he considers Russia’s withdrawal from Donbass and Crimea “absolutely unrealistic.”

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that the issue of Crimea is closed for Russia, and the referendum on the peninsula was held in strict accordance with international law. 

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum took place there in March 2014: the majority of residents were in favor of reunification with Russia.
