“We are waiting for everyone to be officially confirmed what the final decision will be, they say: here we will freeze in the CSTO de facto, but if we want, we will freeze de jure, we will leave de jure.

The EurAsEC is still interesting to us because we get something from there,” Lavrov said during a press conference following the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

According to the minister, this is “not a very pretty picture.”

“We would really like our Armenian partners to decide for themselves how they want to continue to live and implement on a mutual basis those agreements that are not binding in a variety of integration structures,” added the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Kremlin noted that Russia does not have clarity regarding Armenia’s statement about freezing membership in the CSTO.

According to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the actual freezing of the republic’s participation in the CSTO means the absence of a permanent representative and the country’s non-participation in the organization’s events at a high and senior level.

He threatened that Armenia would de jure freeze membership in the organization if the association did not fulfill its obligations.

At the same time, Pashinyan noted that Armenia did not expect military intervention from the CSTO in the conflict with Azerbaijan - Yerevan required the political position of the organization.
