The diplomat said this during a press conference following the diplomatic forum in Antalya.

The minister emphasized that Moscow has no lack of goodwill in this matter.

“We see a lack of goodwill on that side.

Not even so much goodwill - we see a lack of understanding of what is happening on the other side,” he stated.

Lavrov added that the West is still trying to achieve Russia's defeat on the battlefield.

The diplomat recalled Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin’s statement about NATO’s plans to act against Russia in the event of Ukraine’s defeat.

In addition, Lavrov recalled the words of French President Emmanuel Macron, who allowed Western military personnel to be sent to Ukraine to participate in hostilities.

“There are plenty of facts that the West is leading the matter towards a military solution,” the minister concluded.

Also, Sergei Lavrov, commenting on Turkey’s readiness to provide a platform for negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, recalled that Russia has never refused a diplomatic settlement of the situation with Ukraine.
