The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, reproached Pedro Sánchez this Saturday for his silence regarding the latest known information about the

Koldo case

that affects various ministries and the president of Congress, Francina Armengol.

For this reason, he urged the President of the Government to give explanations to clarify the degree of knowledge that La Moncloa had of this plot: "Abandon your flight forward, get out of the bunker, show your face," he disfigured the socialist leader, whom accused of having a Government "in decomposition" due to the amnesty and now dotted with corruption.

This is how the opposition leader expressed himself from Bilbao, just a few hours after the Venice Commission warned the Executive that amnesties "should not be designed to cover specific individuals", which in the eyes of the PP represents a clear touch of attention regarding the fit that is being sought for

Carles Puigdemont

to include him in the measure of grace.

The conclusions of the Venice Commission, whose report is still a draft, were leaked by the Executive late this Friday.

In La Moncloa, on the contrary, they see that the organization "completely endorses the existence" of the amnesty law, despite the fact that the Venice Commission itself emphasizes that "it is not competent" to determine its "constitutionality" and that neither has evaluated its "compatibility" with European Union Law.

The Government, Feijóo considered, is "in decomposition" due to its continuous concessions to independence and nationalism, and now, in addition, due to its connection with the events known in recent days regarding the Koldo plot, which have already led to the fall of the former Minister José Luis Ábalos and could affect other members of his Government who purchased medical supplies during the pandemic from the network that supposedly collected illegal commissions from this process, and whose mastermind, among others, was Koldo García, Ábalos's right-hand man during his period in office. Development commanders.

The thesis that the PP has maintained since the case broke out, and as it defended this week in Congress, is that the President of the Government "knew and covered up" the events that Justice is now investigating, and that this was related to the departure of Ábalos of the Council of Ministers in 2021. "They knew it for a long time and they covered it up all the time. They are trying to cover up a completely overwhelmed plot," Feijóo launched this Saturday from Bilbao, where he supported Javier de Andrés, a popular candidate for the next Basque elections. on April 21.

"Instead of showing their faces, they try to encapsulate" the information and responsibilities of senior members of the Government, reproached the opposition leader, who pointed out that the silence and lack of explanations increase suspicions in this regard.

"Everyone except Ábalos is silent, they do not give any explanation," said Feijóo, who added that if the former minister is the only one who has spoken for now, "how will the rest of the PSOE be" to prefer to remain silent.
