As the 60th edition of the Salon de l'Agriculture ends this Sunday, the week was marked by the visit of numerous political figures.

If this is the case every year, this time, the agricultural crisis and the European elections have made them all the more important.

From Emmanuel Macron's chaotic day, to that of Marion Maréchal doused in beer, a look back at a week of political visits to the Salon.

On the eve of the end of the 60th edition of the Salon de l'Agriculture, visitors came in large numbers this year.

This is also the case for political figures, for whom it is one of the meetings not to be missed, and perhaps even more so this year, due to the agricultural crisis and the approaching European elections.

The political week was very busy at the Salon de l'Agriculture, starting with last Saturday, the opening day, marked by the presence of Emmanuel Macron.

A very complicated day with this crowded scene, where we see farmers on the ground violently pushed back by the police, or even these demonstrators shouting “Macron resign!”

while the president is locked in a small room with the leaders of the farmers' unions.

Gabriel Attal and Jordan Bardella rather well received

Jordan Bardella was there last Sunday and was much better received.

“It is clear that the welcome we receive at the Salon de l’Agriculture is a kind and warm welcome. This is not the case for the President of the Republic. Perhaps they should ask themselves questions,” had declared the president of the RN.

The head of government, Gabriel Attal, went there on Tuesday and tried to save the furniture.

“Some people want to constantly seek to transform the Salon de l'Agriculture, which is the meeting point between farmers and the French, to seek to transform it into a political circus,” the Prime Minister underlined.

“They tried and they brought in activists to disrupt the view and the visit of the President of the Republic. Obviously, I regret it.”

Gabriel Attal, was rather well received and enjoys a good popularity rating, including among farmers.

Complicated week for the majority

But overall the week was very complicated for the majority.

On Friday, it was the Ministers of Ecological Transition and Agriculture, Christophe Béchu and Marc Fesneau, who were the targets of boos and egg throwing.

Another highlight of this show on Thursday, during the visit of Eric Zemmour and Marion Maréchal, the Reconquête candidate in the European elections was doused with beer during her visit.
