To unite its teams, the American IT security company Verkada has implemented a program called “3-3-3”.

Each employee receives $30 from the company to spend on drinks or food.

To do this, employees must meet in groups of three from 3 p.m.

Should you have an aperitif to be more productive?

In any case, this is what the American computer security company Verkada, located in San Mateo, in Silicon Valley, California, thinks.

For her, this friendly moment would bring teams of employees together.

But then, how to go about it?

This company has therefore implemented a system called “3-3-3” which consists of paying 30 dollars (around 27 euros) per employee.

The latter can spend them in restaurants or bars located next to the company.

The money can be used on drinks or food with colleagues.

Post a photo as proof

To do this, employees are invited to meet in groups of three around a drink.

On the other hand, they can only gather from 3 p.m., outside of their working day.

If they have not been asked to notify superiors in advance, employees must nevertheless publish a photo, capturing their moment of conviviality, on the professional messaging application Slack.

"The idea is that it's the afternoon and three people are going out and spending time together. Chances are, you're talking about something relevant work-related and, ultimately, that will benefit us,” said Filip Kaliszan, CEO of Verkada, in the podcast

According to Business Insider, the CEO of the American company has assured that all of its 1,800 employees have already participated at least once in the Verkada initiative.

The program even has some success with employees since photos are posted four to five times a day on the “3-3-3” Slack channel.

Before that, the company already allowed employees to spend money from the company under these conditions.

But, according to Filip Kaliszan, making the project concrete, by giving it a name and putting up posters in the corridors of the company, makes it more attractive.

Social, essential for the company

This is not the first time that the American company has attacked the well-being of its employees.

During the health crisis, when all companies were promoting teleworking, Verkada decided to call all of its employees back to the office, after two months of shutdown.

The CEO of the company justified this decision by admitting that some conflicts had arisen between certain employees.

Still speaking to the media Business Insider, he explained this strategy.

“If we want to grow as fast as we want, we have to bring people back,” Kaliszan said.

The company therefore advocates social and invites its employees to participate once or twice a week in the “3-3-3” program.
