67 percent of Israelis believe that Israel should continue attacking Hezbollah until it is removed from the (French) border.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that sirens sounded in the occupied village of Ghajar, the Metula region, the Hula Plain, and the occupied Shebaa Farms in southern Lebanon, while an opinion poll showed that the majority of Israelis support the continuation of attacks on Hezbollah.

The Lebanese Hezbollah said that today, Friday, it shot down an Israeli enemy drone in Wadi al-Azziyah in southern Lebanon.

Yesterday, Hezbollah announced the implementation of five attacks on Israeli sites, and Hezbollah reported the killing of two of its members in southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army spokesman said that warplanes raided last night a military building belonging to Hezbollah in the Aita al-Shaab area in southern Lebanon. He added that warplanes also bombed the party’s infrastructure in the Labouneh region in southern Lebanon.

Since October 8, 220 members of Hezbollah, 11 of the Amal Movement, 12 of Islamic Jihad, and 12 of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) have been killed, in addition to 45 civilians, a soldier in the Lebanese army, and a member of the Internal Security Forces. While 6 Israeli civilians and 11 soldiers were killed as a result of the border clashes, according to Anatolia Agency.

Attacks continue

In another context, an opinion poll showed - on Friday - that a majority of Israelis support the continuation of attacks on Hezbollah, despite the expected truce in the Gaza Strip.

The Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported that 67% of Israelis believe that Israel must continue attacking Hezbollah until it is removed from the border, while 17% believe that the escalation must stop and 16% did not specify a specific answer.

The newspaper reported that the poll was conducted by the Lazard Institute for Studies on a random sample of 511 Israelis, with a margin of error of 4.3%.

US administration officials had suggested that Israel would launch a ground operation in southern Lebanon at the end of the spring or the beginning of the summer.

According to American officials, the administration of President Joe Biden warned of the possibility that the Israeli incursion into southern Lebanon would lead to a major escalation whose dimensions are unknown.

News of the potential Israeli ground operation came at a time when Hezbollah announced that it would stop launching attacks on Israel when the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip stopped.

For his part, Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Thursday that the truce that may begin in the Gaza Strip next week will lead to indirect talks to end the fighting along Lebanon's southern border.

Coinciding with the Israeli war on Gaza, Hezbollah and Palestinian factions in southern Lebanon exchange almost daily bombardment with the Israeli occupation army on both sides of the border.
