Hamas considered death from starvation in Gaza an announcement of the failure of the international and international community (Anatolia)

The number of victims of hunger, which is devastating the population of the Gaza Strip, recorded a new increase today, Friday.

While the capabilities of health facilities in the Gaza Strip are unable to reach all the victims of yesterday’s flour massacre, condemnations continue, as do demands for an investigation into its circumstances.

The head of the nursing department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex told Al Jazeera - today - that dozens of martyrs and wounded in the flour massacre that took place yesterday in the Nabulsi roundabout in northern Gaza are still on the beach and we cannot reach them, adding that the hospital received the bodies of more than 100 martyrs yesterday who were victims of that massacre.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced today the death of 13 children in the Gaza and northern governorates due to hunger and malnutrition, considering this “a declaration of failure for the international community and the United Nations.”

Hamas's statement on its account on the Telegram platform said that the martyrdom of children was "a disgrace to humanity and a dangerous precedent in our modern era."

Hamas renewed its call to the United Nations and international relief institutions for the necessity of urgent action to save children and civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially the Gaza and North governorates, calling on those institutions “not to submit to the dictates of the criminal Zionist occupation, which is committing genocide and ethnic cleansing against our Palestinian people.”

Condemnations and demands

In terms of international reactions to the massacre, South Africa said today that the killing of Palestinians who were waiting for aid in Gaza constitutes a violation of temporary orders issued by the International Court of Justice in a legal case in which Pretoria accused Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The statement by the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation in South Africa stated, “South Africa condemns the massacre that claimed the lives of 112 Palestinians and injured hundreds of others while trying to obtain life-saving aid.”

"The latest atrocity is another violation of international law and the binding interim orders issued by the International Court of Justice," she added.

As for Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruinsloot, she described what happened in Gaza during the distribution of aid as a "horrible tragedy," adding that her country had asked Israel for clarification regarding it.

For its part, the German government said today that "the circumstances of the killing of Gazans who were seeking humanitarian aid must be investigated" and called for a ceasefire "for humanitarian reasons."

“People wanted relief supplies for themselves and their families and ended up dead,” Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock wrote in a tweet on X.

She added, "The reports coming from Gaza shocked me. The Israeli army must provide a full explanation of the panic and mass shooting that occurred."
