This Friday , firefighters from the

Valencia City Council

found a cat inside one of the burned flats, eight days after the fire broke out that burned down two buildings in the

Campanar neighborhood

.

As reported through their 'X' profile, firefighters found the animal while carrying out work to recover belongings and documentation in the buildings, specifically in the niche of the dry column.

The firefighters have delivered the cat "with great satisfaction" to its caregivers.

It so happens that last Tuesday a

spontaneous tribute

took place with bouquets of flowers and a wreath placed in front of the 'Callejeros' sculpture, located in the Plaza de los Pinazo in Valencia, in memory of the pets who died during the fire.

Among the bouquets, a card was also left, without a signature, but with a message to all the animals that lost their lives in the building and "trillions of kisses to the rainbow": "Always in our hearts, rest in peace," the letter concluded. Postcard.

Joaquín Prat explodes against the gossip that jokes about the fire in Valencia: "You are miserable"

Animal groups such as

Alternativa Felina

showed their condolences to the "fuzzy deceased" and have estimated the animals that lost their lives in the Campanar fire at 40 dogs and 36 cats, although at this time no official records have been provided.

For this reason, the Animal Coordinator of the Valencian Community requested this Monday from the General Directorate of Environment and Animals of the Generalitat the count of dead animals "out of respect for the victims", according to the association stated on social networks.

In this sense, he urged the Administrations that if "the circumstances of the building allow it", families can

recover their deceased pets

so that they can "manage the grief that the loss entails."

Likewise, he urged the commission in charge of the regulatory development of Law 2/2023 to meet "as soon as possible" to implement the protocols to follow in the event of disasters and other unexpected situations.
