Russian Ministry of Defense “Launch exercise of ICBM “Yars” capable of carrying nuclear warheads”

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the 1st that it conducted a firing exercise of the ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile ``Yars''), which can carry multiple nuclear warheads.

Russia's Putin administration has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear forces in response to Western countries continuing to provide military aid to Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the 1st that it conducted a firing exercise of the ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile ``Yars''), which can carry multiple nuclear warheads, at a space base in northern Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also released footage of the launch, showing that multiple warheads hit targets on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East as planned.

"Yars" is an ICBM that has a range of over 10,000 km and plays a central role in the Russian military's nuclear forces, and Russia claims that it is proceeding with its actual deployment, and through the announcement of the exercise, it will provide military support to Ukraine. It appears that the aim is to check the Western countries that continue to do so.

In his annual State of the Union address on February 29, President Putin emphasized that ``Russia's strategic nuclear weapons force is fully ready for use.'' They have repeatedly threatened to use military force.

Regarding this, the American think tank ``Institute of War'' said in an analysis on the 29th, ``nuclear threats are frequently raised in an attempt to instill fear in the West and weaken support for Ukraine.Russia's use of nuclear weapons.'' The possibility of this is extremely low."
