) and deputy publishing director of the site actualite.cd, Stanis Bujakera, continues his detention in the Makala central prison in Kinshasa.

The rejection of the seventh request for provisional release sparked a reaction from Reporters Without Borders (RSF).

The director of RSF's sub-Saharan Africa desk, Sadibou Marong, said he was surprised by the negative response from the Kinshasa-Gombe high court.

The decision to keep Stanis Bujakera in detention was announced by the court on Tuesday January 27.

RSF calls for the release and dropping of charges against Stanis Bujakera: “ 

You know, there is a lot of disappointment, but it is also extremely astonishing, what we saw with this rejection of this request for provisional release.

We ask the Congolese authorities to release the journalist, who should never have been arrested and detained, given everything we have seen and that RSF has demonstrated on the basis of several investigations.

From this point of view, there is absolutely no reason to continue to hold it.
