A new disturbance will cover the western half of the country this Thursday morning, before moving slowly eastward in the afternoon and evening.

Wind gusts of between 60 and 80 km/h are also expected in the northwestern third of the country.

In terms of temperatures, there is a big difference between the regions. 

A disturbance will bring overcast weather with scattered drizzle on Thursday morning to the western half of the country, which will slowly gain eastwards in the afternoon and evening, according to Météo France forecasts.

In the afternoon, more rainy spells accompanied by gusts of wind up to 60 to 80 km/h in the north-western third.

Winter temperatures in the Grand-Est and Occitanie

In the eastern half of the country, the day will start with generous sunshine despite the morning fog in the North-East.

Clouds and light rain will then nibble from the west, but will not reach the regions from Lorraine to the Rhône valley.

Rainy weather is expected over the east and south of Corsica, snowy over the border Alps, as well as a few snowflakes over the Massif Central from 1,000-1,200 m overnight.

The northeast wind will be moderate around Corsica with gusts of up to 60 km/h.

Minimum temperatures will range from -2 to 4 degrees from the Grand-Est to Occitanie, Rhône-Alpes and inside PACA, 6 to 8 elsewhere and 9 to 11 on the Mediterranean coast.

The maximums will range from 9 to 12 in the northern half, 13 to 17 in the south and 18 to 20 from Var to the Côte d'Azur.
