It is now official, since this Thursday, the highest Spanish judicial body, the Supreme Court, has opened an investigation for terrorism against Carles Puigdemont.

In question, its alleged link with the mysterious movement called “Tsunami Democratic” which, in 2019 after the conviction

of the independence leaders

, had organized several demonstrations at Barcelona airport and in the city center.

Despite the public prosecutor's opinion that there was no "terrorism" in these protests, the court ultimately sided with the judge and referred to "street terrorism" aimed at "overturning order constitutional", while suspecting the former Catalan president of being the leader - from a distance - since he was already exiled in Belgium at the time.

This announcement comes in the middle of the negotiation of the amnesty law between the Spanish government and Puigdemont's party and complicates its adoption while, for the moment, the text excludes pardons for those accused of terrorism.
