Zurabishvili said this during an event in London organized by the British think tank Chatham House.

The Georgian leader called the decision on a possible pardon for Saakashvili her personal one, adding that she alone would be responsible for it.

“This is not an issue that can be influenced by external or internal pressure,” RIA Novosti quotes her.

In September 2023, the executive secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream, Mamuka Mdinaradze, said that Zurabishvili would not pardon Mikheil Saakashvili.
