The pro-Palestine demonstration will continue for 24 hours, according to its organizers (Anatolia)

A pro-Palestine demonstration was launched in New York on Thursday and will continue for 24 hours to demand an end to the massacres committed by Israel against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and an immediate ceasefire.

American activists gathered in New York State Park and announced that they would continue their movement until an immediate and permanent ceasefire is reached in Gaza.

During the protest demonstration, which will last 24 hours, speakers tried to communicate their voices to New York Mayor Eric Adams and city council members, and called on the United States to stop supporting Israel.

Some American Jews living in New York said that Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, and that they do not want to support Tel Aviv with the taxes they pay to the American government.

On the sidewalk in front of the municipal building, activists placed a giant banner bearing the names of tens of thousands of civilians who were martyred in the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators also chanted slogans calling for freedom for Palestine, a ceasefire, and not supporting genocide in Gaza.
