The mayor of Compiègne has decided to set up a rating system for the allocation of HLM housing, aiming to no longer rent apartments to families of delinquents.

It is an initiative which divides the listeners of Europe 1. The LR mayor of Compiègne, Philippe Marini, has decided to implement new criteria for allocating HLM housing in his municipality, with a system of negative marks aimed at exclude the families of offenders.

, Abdel, president of a parents' association in the North, describes this system as "dismaying".

“I am used to helping families in difficulty with their children. (This initiative) sends a chill down my spine (...) There are already selections which are made on several criteria to have a housing", he says on Europe 1.

Conversely

, this new method of allocating HLM housing is going in the right direction, according to Ahmid, a retired police officer in the Paris suburbs.

“Troublemakers, there is no gift to give, nor privilege to have (...). At some point, we have to put up a barrier,” he believes at the microphone of Dimitri Pavlenko.
