Indeed, some Gazans documented the moment when planes dropped aid over the central and southern regions of the Strip, but the announcement by the Egyptian army spokesman about the airdrop of aid sparked much controversy and criticism among the audience on social media platforms.

Others wondered about the trucks parked in Rafah and Al-Arish and why they were not brought in when their cost was much less than the airdrop operation, pointing out that whoever could deliver aid from the air could bring it in by land.

Commentators said that the timing of the landing came at the end of the period granted to the occupation by the International Court of Justice, and they fear that the occupation will take it as evidence that it is not withholding aid from the people of Gaza before the court.
Last Monday, the Jordanian army announced the largest aid landing for Gaza residents since the start of the devastating Israeli war on the Strip last October.
