Six departments remain on orange alert for significant floods, while the weather should be a little drier this Wednesday across the country.

Snowfall will continue in mountain ranges, particularly in the Alps and the Massif Central. 

Over a large south-eastern quarter, Wednesday morning the sky will be very cloudy or overcast with a little snow from 800 to 1000 m over the Massif Central and the east of the Pyrenees, according to Météo-France forecasts.

Please note, six departments (Pas-de-Calais, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Dordogne, Gironde and Seine-et-Marne) will remain on orange alert for significant flooding in progress on the Canche (62), the Dronne (16, 24, 17, 33), Isle (33, 24) and Grand Morin (77).

In addition, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques (64) will be on orange avalanche alert.

In the Alps, the rain-snow limit will rise to around 1,500 m, the snow will gradually fall back onto the border Alps.

The mistral will blow at 70 to 80 km/h in the Rhône valley and will accompany showers.

Likewise, it will rain lightly in the west of Occitanie despite a tramontane at 90 km/h.

On the Pyrenean ridges, the north wind will blow at 80 to 120 km/h.

Cool temperatures

In the afternoon, clearings will develop over Provence and northern Languedoc.

In Corsica, on the other hand, the weather will be choppy with sometimes stormy showers, giving good accumulations locally with snow above 1600 meters.

From the North-East to the South-West the sun will largely dominate after the morning gray has dissipated.

In the regions bordering the Channel and the Atlantic coast, the sky will be low and gray with drizzle at times.

Gaps will develop in the afternoon from Hauts-de-France to Aquitaine, the sky will remain overcast in Brittany.

Minimum temperatures will range from -2 to +3 degrees in general over the north-western half of the country, up to 7 in Brittany under cloud cover, and from 3 to 8 from Alsace to PACA and Occitanie.

The maximums vary between 10 and 14 degrees from north to south with peaks at 15 to 18 degrees around the Mediterranean.
