In the appeal, the legislator noted that the main guideline of state policy in the field of child protection is the priority of family education for children who have lost parental care.

In this regard, an important task is to continue to support candidates for adoptive parents.

In accordance with the law, the employer is obliged, based on the employee’s application, to provide leave without pay to a number of categories of citizens, including employees in the event of the birth of a child.

However, an employee may also need additional leave in case of preparation for adoption, the parliamentarian noted.

Thus, after completing the stage of preparing all the necessary documents, the candidate for adoptive parents needs time to study the database of children left without parental care, visit orphanages, as well as get to know and communicate with the wards.

The situation becomes more complicated when these institutions are located in another region - in this case, the citizen has to spend additional effort and time to get to their destination, Lantratova noted.

“In this regard, I am preparing changes to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, according to which the right to grant leave will also be given to working citizens who have received a conclusion from the guardianship authorities about the possibility of being an adoptive parent.

The duration of vacation in this case can reach 14 calendar days per year.

Based on the above, I ask you, dear Anton Olegovich, to evaluate this initiative and present the ministry’s position on this issue,” the text of the appeal says.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed expanding the land tax benefit for families with five or more children.
