The occupation forces stormed several cities in the West Bank amid widespread harassment operations (Anatolia)

The Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs confirmed - today, Wednesday - that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 35 Palestinians during the past 24 hours in the occupied West Bank, amid the continuation of the campaign of raids and arrests.

Thus, the number of detainees in the West Bank has risen to 7,305 since the seventh of last October, including those who were arrested from homes and through military checkpoints, and those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure.

From Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 35 citizens, including children and former prisoners, according to the joint statement with the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club.

He added that the arrests were distributed across the governorates of Jenin (north), Ramallah and Jerusalem (central), and Hebron and Bethlehem (south), and included widespread acts of abuse, beatings, and vandalism of citizens’ homes.

The statement also pointed out that the occupation forces arrested a number of workers from the Gaza Strip in the city of Nablus, whose number and identities were not determined.

The total number of prisoners in Israeli prisons is approximately 9,000, including about 200 children, 70 female prisoners, and 3,484 administrative detainees, according to the data of the two institutions until the end of last January.

Continuing raids

In a related development, Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the occupation forces stormed the town of Jalboun, east of Jenin, and also stormed the Jenin camp, Hebron, and Qalqilya.

Meanwhile, the Jenin Battalion - affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades - announced that it had caused injuries to occupation soldiers during clashes with them.

On the other hand, medical sources confirmed that two Palestinians were injured when the occupation opened fire during confrontations in Qalqilya in the northern West Bank.

The Palestinian News Agency said that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 3 citizens, and seized the car of one of them in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate after storming them.

It confirmed that the occupation arrested 20 Palestinians from the city of Yatta in the Hebron Governorate, south of the West Bank, and added that the occupation demolished two houses in the village of Al-Walaja, northwest of Bethlehem.

Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, the Israeli army has escalated its operations in the West Bank, leaving 410 martyrs and about 4,600 wounded.
