This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
According to him, a number of Western donors, even before the investigation was completed, suspended funding for UNRWA at the height of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, which put the agency's activities at risk of collapse.
As Nebenzya noted, this step can hardly be regarded as anything other than “outright immoral donor blackmail and politicization of humanitarian issues.”
“We hope that the Council will have the opportunity to separately discuss this topic in the coming days,” RIA Novosti reports the words of the Russian permanent representative.
Nebenzya also said that preventing mass famine in Gaza depends on Israel.
Previously, he called the US draft resolution on Gaza a license to kill Palestinians.
