Sources close to the Lebanese Hezbollah and a spokesman for the Ansar Allah group (Houthis) revealed on Tuesday the conditions for stopping their ongoing operations against Israel, whose aggression against the Gaza Strip has entered its 144th day.

Two sources close to Hezbollah told Reuters that it would cease fire on Israel if the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) agreed to a truce proposal with Israel in Gaza and unless Israeli forces continued bombing Lebanon.

To this day, the discrepancy continues in the news coming from America and Israel regarding the progress of the talks between Hamas and Israel and the imminence of reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners and detainees.

One of the sources close to Hezbollah said, "The moment Hamas announces its approval of the truce, and the moment the truce is announced, Hezbollah will adhere to the truce and will stop its operations in the south immediately, as happened the previous time."

Qatari mediation - with Egyptian-American support - succeeded in reaching a temporary humanitarian truce on November 24, which lasted for a week, during which a ceasefire took place and prisoners and detainees were exchanged.

The two sources said that if Israel continues to bomb Lebanon, Hezbollah will not hesitate to continue fighting.

One of the sources said that Hezbollah had previously said that it would not be possible to hold any talks with it until after the ceasefire in Gaza, and it adheres to this position.

The position of the Houthis

In Yemen, the Houthis said that they would not reconsider their attacks against ships heading to Israel through the Red Sea until Israel ends its aggression against the Gaza Strip.

In response to a question about whether they would stop attacks if a ceasefire agreement could be reached, Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdul Salam said that the situation would be reassessed if the Gaza siege ended and humanitarian aid was allowed to enter.

Abdel Salam told Reuters, "There will be no cessation of any operations in support of the Palestinian people until the aggression against Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted. If Israel actually stops, lifts the siege, and aid enters, then every incident will be relevant."

It is noteworthy that the Houthis have been targeting commercial ships linked to Israel with missiles and drones in the Red Sea region since last November 19, in protest against the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

As Washington and London intervened and tensions took a noticeable escalation last January, they announced that they now considered all American and British ships in the region among their military targets.
