At the same time, it will promote the renewal of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang, Shenjiang, Zhuhai-Zhaoqing and other high-speed railways and Dedicated railway lines in Guangzhou, Shenzhen Metropolitan Area, Guangdong East Intercity Railway and Shantou Guangao Port Area are building a "Greater Bay Area on Track" at a high level.

In 2023, the investment in the construction of highways, waterways and provincial railways in Guangdong Province will be approximately 346.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.2%.
The Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway has been put into operation, and the eastern Guangdong region has accelerated its integration into the "one-hour traffic circle" of the Greater Bay Area; Guangzhou Baiyun Station has been completed and opened, adding another world-class comprehensive transportation hub; the new generation of fully automated container terminals, Guangzhou Port Nansha Port Phase IV The project (Phase I) was put into operation.
The expressway network has been continuously improved, and 15 expressway projects have been completed, including the first phase of the Guangzhou Conghua-Huangpu Expressway. The total length of expressways in the province has reached 11,481 kilometers, ranking first in the country for 10 consecutive years.
Port and shipping capacity expansion and upgrading continue to advance, and 19 projects including BASF's integrated project large terminal and the second phase of the Yamen sea channel project have been completed.
Rail transit construction has been accelerated, and three 353-kilometer projects including the Guangzhou-Shantou-Shantou High-speed Railway have been completed and opened to traffic.
The province's high-speed rail operating mileage is approximately 2,764 kilometers, ranking first in the country; the province's urban rail transit operating mileage is 1,373 kilometers, ranking first in the country.

In 2024, Guangdong's planned investment in highways and waterways will exceed 230 billion yuan, and it will accelerate the construction of 48 highways with an estimated 1,927 kilometers, strive to complete 16 projects including the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Expressway, and accelerate the reconstruction and expansion of congested road sections such as the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Guangzhou-Macao, and Guangzhou-Kunming Expressways. ; 158 general national and provincial highways will be renewed, and 54 projects including the Yangjiang section of the provincial highway S539 are planned to be completed; 64 port and shipping projects will be renewed, and 18 projects including the upgrading project of the inbound channel of the Tsuen Wan Port area of Huizhou Port are planned to be completed.
In order to create a "Greater Bay Area on Track" at a high level, the provincial-controlled railway construction plan will invest 120 billion yuan in 2024. It is planned to start construction of 6 new projects, including the 5th and 6th Line from Guangzhou East to Xintang (including Guangzhou East Station), about 256 kilometers. Promote the continuation of the construction of 41 high-speed railways such as Guangzhou-Zhanjiang, Shenjiang, Zhuhai-Zhao, and Shenzhen-Nan, as well as Guangzhou, Shenzhen metropolitan area, East Guangdong intercity railway, and Shantou-Guangao Port area, with a total length of 2,067 kilometers, and build the Meilong High-speed Railway, Xinbai Guangcheng Railway, etc. International and other 9 items.
At the same time, we will accelerate the planning and construction of Guangzhou and Shenzhen international transportation hubs and national transportation hubs in Zhuhai, Shantou, and Zhanjiang, and promote the construction of Guangzhou as a national comprehensive freight hub demonstration city for chain reinforcement and strengthening.
