United States: after her defeat in South Carolina, Nikky Haley dropped by a major donor

This is a new blow for Nikky Haley, the conservative candidate who continues to challenge Donald Trump for the nomination of the Republican Party for the presidential election in November 2024. After losing another primary, that of South Carolina, on Saturday February 24, she was dropped by one of her biggest donors, the powerful Americans For Prosperity Action group of the Koch brothers who, until now, had financed her campaign.

We need to review our funding priorities

,” said the director of the support group the day after Nikky Haley’s defeat in South Carolina.

Founded by the Koch brothers, two billionaires with conservative and libertarian ideas, the organization Americans For Prosperity had paid millions of dollars to Nikky Haley's campaign to prevent a victory for Donald Trump.

But barring any major surprises, the former president is guaranteed to obtain the Republican nomination.

The lobbying group has therefore decided to focus on financing candidates for Congress, the partial renewal of which will take place at the same time as the presidential election.

While dropping Donald Trump's only rival, the organization still says it is worried about the consequences of a possible victory for the former president.

Nikky Haley pretends not to be disturbed by the loss of this important donor.

She claims in the

to have raised a million dollars in just 24 hours.
