A copy of the appeal addressed to the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, is at RT’s disposal.

According to Lantratova, the priority state task remains the creation of conditions for a comfortable and safe pregnancy and motherhood for Russian women.

In particular, she said, one of the factors influencing a woman’s decision to have a child is the availability of postpartum recovery programs.

“So, during pregnancy, a woman’s body faces colossal psychological and physiological changes, which is why after the birth of a child, the mother needs rest, special support and often special medical and psychological recovery,” the deputy emphasized.

At the moment, private clinics in the Russian Federation provide a fairly wide range of services for postpartum recovery programs, which include individual consultations with medical specialists for women who have given birth, therapeutic exercises and therapeutic training, hydrokinesitherapy, therapeutic massage, individual nutritional recommendations, and also aesthetic procedures, the parliamentarian explained.

The cost of such programs can reach 150 thousand rubles, which not every family can afford to pay.

At the same time, the negative experience of the postpartum period can provoke a mother’s reluctance to experience pregnancy again, which, in turn, will negatively affect the demographic situation in the country, Lantratova said.

“Based on the above, I ask you, dear Mikhail Albertovich, to consider the possibility of developing and including in the system of medical services provided under compulsory medical insurance programs for postpartum rehabilitation of women, and also to present the position of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on this issue,” the text of the appeal says.

Previously, Lantratova proposed creating a federal program to provide large families with residential buildings for lifelong free use.
