The Civil Guard has arrested the mother and stepfather of a 12-year-old minor who was going to be forced to marry in exchange for 3,000 euros.

The operation began at the end of last month, when the Civil Guard learned of the existence of some minors in the town of Malagón (Ciudad Real), who could be in a situation of helplessness.

According to the information received by the agents, one of these minors had stated in her social environment that she was receiving regular physical attacks from her mother and that she did not want to be at her home.

Continuing with the investigations, the agents maintained contact about the minor's social circle and the minor's school, being able to verify that the minors had not attended school and that after this, the girl's mother and stepfather had attended the center. to request the discharge of the minor, since according to them she had left the town.

The agents managed to find out that the minor had informed her circle of friends that her parents were going to marry her for 3,000 euros.

For this reason, the agents proceeded to arrest the parents.

At the time of the arrest, the stepfather was carrying 3,800 euros in one of his pants pockets, stating that he had earned that money during the olive harvesting campaign, something that was proven to be false, according to the agents.

Likewise, the civil guards learned that the minor victim could be in a home in the town of Baza (Granada), so they immediately moved to that town, where she was found.

After recovering the minor, negotiations began with Social Welfare of the province of Granada due to the risk of homelessness.

Currently the minor is under the guardianship of the Junta de Andalucía.
