Two years have passed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and representatives from various countries held a meeting at UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in Paris, France. We confirmed that we will work together to provide support in areas such as education and culture.

The meeting, held on the 26th at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, was attended by approximately 150 people, including ambassadors from nearly 20 countries including Ukraine, Lithuania, and Japan, as well as international students from Ukraine.

UNESCO estimates that over the past two years, Russia's military invasion has caused damage to Ukraine's cultural and tourism sectors, amounting to approximately 3.5 billion dollars, or over 520 billion yen.

At the meeting, the situation of damage in Ukraine was reported, and the participants called for the withdrawal of Russian troops and confirmed that they would work together to provide support in areas such as education and culture to Ukraine.

Ambassador Yudai Kano of the Permanent Mission of Japan to UNESCO, who participated, said, ``The war is still going on, so we must strengthen international solidarity.''

Tetyana Karabun, an international student from Ukraine who attended the meeting, said, ``We are grateful for the support. In Ukraine, not only students, but everyone is facing a difficult situation and needs support. When the war is over, I would like to return to my country and be involved in its reconstruction."
