Five years have passed since the disappearance of Roberto García

, a resident of Casarrubios del Monte.

February 17, 2019 was the last time anyone heard from him.

At the time of his disappearance, Roberto was 63 years old.

Despite the search efforts that have been carried out since then, nothing is still known about what happened to him or where he can be found.

Family, friends and neighbors of Casarrubios gathered yesterday in the municipality to ask the Civil Guard to continue with the investigations.

In addition, they said that

as a result of a new statement from a person, a new line of action has been opened

by the agents of the Armed Institute.

At the moment, it is not known what direction these investigations are taking.

His relatives also asked again yesterday for citizen collaboration, since they believe that someone may have seen something and they still hope that they can find out what happened on the day of his disappearance.

The last time Roberto was seen alive was in a bar in his municipality.

The next day, there is someone from the area who locates Roberto's car circulating near a family farm in Viso de San Juan, although he does not identify Roberto inside at any time.

The car would appear two days after its disappearance in the Madrid municipality of El Álamo.

On the day the car is seen, the mobile phone would have already been turned off, so investigators have well-founded suspicions that what happened to Roberto would take place between February 17 and the afternoon of the 18th.

His disappearance was not voluntary, his family claims. family

, who in recent years have maintained pressure to find out what happened.

After his disappearance and without news of him,

they took up to 1,200 euros from his account.

He was a neighbor

who lived across the street from Roberto and

was later arrested,

but months later he was released.

This man stated that he had found his neighbor's credit card on the street, which had the pin number taped to a piece of paper.

He spent four months in preventive detention, was released, left the town, headed to Barcelona and has not spoken about the case again.

In May of last year, the

Civil Guard

reactivated the search for

Roberto García at the family farm in Viso de San Juan

(Toledo), where he usually went, located a few kilometers from Casarrubios del Monte and which had already been searched previously.

A georadar

and a

deep metal

detector

were used in case the body could be buried with a metallic object.

A drone with a thermal camera and a multispectral camera

was also used

, capable of detecting anomalies in the vegetation.
